Wangui appreciates the presence of the artist’s hand

I think the show is very cohesive, especially materially… the textures and patterns that are used in different people’s work make sense together. That’s something I definitely picked up on. The curators were very specific in having a certain visual impact.

There are lots of things where you could see that someone’s hand was in it. These days so many people incorporate readymades or fabricated things in their work so it was nice to see the handmade aspect of it. That’s the main thing that I noticed.
